With the 2023-24 preschool year, I am beginning my 18th year as Director of Midway Preschool! It’s an honor and a privilege to work in early childhood education, especially in a Christian setting. In the past 17 years there have been many challenges, chief among them navigating through the Covid years. That said, we were beyond blessed to be able to keep preschool open and operational throughout those years. Our staff is truly exceptional, and much of the credit is due them for their dedication during such an unprecedented time. The joy of working with children far exceeds any challenges and I enjoy hearing their giggles, comical stories, fanciful outfits, and witnessing their growth from September to May each year.
I’m the mom of two boys, who by definition are grown men now, but will forever be my two boys! My oldest, Spencer, works as a business analyst and my youngest, Colby, is a senior APP St. The older man in my life is a tuxedo cat named Pierre, whose age in human years is something I refuse to calculate. I enjoy sports, cooking, being crafty, bargain hunting and antiquing, and ironing – which I know is kind of crazy – but dryers can’t crease seams and sleeves!
I’m an Alumna of Slippery Rock University (PA) and being a transplant from western PA, you know I’m a Pittsburgh Steeler fan. I’ve called Midway home since 2000 and in the years since, I’ve been to every football field, baseball diamond, and basketball court in Davidson County and beyond, cheering for my boys and their teammates, and I’ve volunteered countless hours for our local schools and athletic programs. I loved every single minute of it and miss it dearly.
Midway Preschool has been serving the children of northern Davidson County and surrounding areas since the 1960’s, and my staff and I welcome your consideration of our program for your children and grandchildren.
