Monthly we provide a meal to the Genesis Family Shelter in Lexington, NC. Our youth also help serve the homeless population of Winston-Salem through the Overflow Shelter system. There are myriad other ways that Midway UMC is reaching out to make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors both near and far. As we say around here, “we are seeking to be the hands and feet of Jesus for those in need”.
We offer a summer mission trip for youth and adults each year. The 2019 Youth Mission team traveled to Florida to help rebuild hurricane damaged homes. There is also a week-long Adult Mission Trip coordinated through Samaritans Purse offered in the fall.
For those in crisis, this fund (consisting of donations from church members) provides monies for Davidson County residents and is available to help with rent, utilities, gasoline, etc.
Numerous needy families in our community are provided nutritious food and personal hygiene items through this ministry. Members of our church family, the Scouts and other area congregations donate these items.
The fourth Sunday of each month we collect a Hunger Pot offering for a specific outreach ministry designated by our Out-reach Team.
