* Parents, Governor Roy Cooper has extended the public school shut-down from his initial two weeks, to May 15th, and as of Friday, April 24th has closed public schools for the remainder of the school year which also means preschool will not resume until August.

Words cannot express our collective disappointment that we won’t be able to finish out the year and be reunited with our preschoolers one last time this school year.  We had many things planned this spring through 4’s graduation, but we know that just about every aspect of life has been altered in some way.  While we miss the children dearly, we are following these guidelines so we can keep your families and our staff safe from exposure to Covid-19.  Our staff will continue to check-in with their students via email, Facebook pages, text, or facetime.

As soon as the stay-at-home order is lifted, we’ll give you a schedule to pick-up spring picture proofs/class pictures.  The lab is currently closed because they not essential, but once they reopen we’ll be more than happy to order pictures for anyone who wants to place an order.

* The photographer is still willing to take 4’s graduation pictures when the stay-at-home order is lifted, so we are hopeful to schedule picture dates sometime over the summer.

The preschool office is open during the closure, so please call if you have any questions:  (336) 764-8645.  I will continue to register students for the upcoming preschool year, so please call the office or email me:

* Preschool Registration:  Registration is now open to the public for fall 2020.

We are currently enrolling students for 2’s, 3’s, 4’s and 5’s who are not yet enrolled in Kindergarten.  Some of our classes are full (as of March 11), but we do have openings in 2’s and 4’s.  Our 3’s are the most limited,  but we may open another 3’s class.   Please see registration information below ↓.

About Midway UMC Preschool

We offer one-half day preschool (8:30 am – Noon) for ages 2 – 5. Each student must be the age of his/her class by August 31. We follow the Davidson County School calendar for vacations and days off. See the attached Preschool Brochure for more information about our program, tuition, and days/classes offered.  A Registration Form for 2020-21 is attached; however, please call for availability.   We’re happy to enroll a child anytime during the preschool year if we have an opening.

Our program started as a two-day Play School in the 1960’s and has evolved into a five-day Preschool, where our goal is to help prepare children not only for kindergarten but a lifetime of learning, through a variety of age appropriate activities that are fun, exploratory, academic, physical, and sometimes messy!   We provide a loving, Christian environment where we are able to share the good news of Jesus!

We have been serving both Davidson and Forsyth Counties for over 50 years!  Even though we are located in Midway, our 2019 preschool graduates are currently enrolled in 11 different elementary/private schools in both counties.  We are so thankful to all of our preschool families who recommend our program to their family, friends, and neighbors.

Summer CampEach summer we offer three weeks of summer camp:  one week in June, one week in July and one week in August.  Camp is open to potty-trained 3’s through rising 5th graders.  Each week has a unique theme,  and the final Friday in August is our outside water fun day.  We rent a water slide and have other outdoor activities.  Our brochure from last summer is linked below so you can learn more about our camps.  We’ll publish dates and themes as soon as they are available.  The school closure has caused a delay in these decisions.

                   REGISTRATION 2020-2021

REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR FALL 2020: Preschool Registration for the 2020-21                                 school year  is now ‘Open to the Public’.  A frequent q uestion, “When is the deadline to                                     enroll?” There is no deadline to enroll per se, but we do recommend registering early                                           because classes fill up fast and by the time school begins in late August, we’re usually on                                 waitlist for most classes.

    REGISTRATION 2020-2021

Class and Spring Pictures:  Due to the Governor’s stay-at-home order, spring individual proofs and class pictures won’t be available for pick-up until the ban is lifted.  The lab who prints the pictures is also closed due to the order, so pictures can’t be ordered at this time.  As soon as the ban is lifted, we can get these items to parents and we’ll be happy to place an order for you even if it takes us into summer.
